Okay.  So, you all know that I’m a huge Vita-Mix fan.  I love mine, and use it every single day.  A while back, I contacted Vita-Mix and told them how much I love their product, and how I would love to give one away on my Review and Giveaway page.  And they wrote back and said YES!

To go along with the giveaway, I recorded a little video of me making my very favorite Green Smoothie.  When I say “I recorded” I really mean that Fiddledaddy did the recording, editing, directing, and wardrobe.  While I stood by whining about how the camera doesn’t add 10 pounds, as I previously believed.  IT ADDS 50!!!!

But still, I press on.

The giveaway was hugely successful, and I still receive occasional e-mails from my winner who is so very delighted with what the Vita-Mix has done for her family.  That makes my heart happy.  In fact, her neighbor loved it so much that she bought one as well.  Word of mouth advertising.  By moms.  This is why moms and particularly mom bloggers are recognized by advertisers.  Toot.  Toot.

But, that’s not why I’m here talking to you about this.  I do have a point.  I promise.

I also have to tell you that yesterday I made scrambled eggs for my kids.  I mixed the eggs up in my Vita-Mix with a healthy scoop of cottage cheese and A RAW ZUCCHINI before cooking them.  They had no idea.  And announced that the eggs were delicious.

Okay.  You can’t even begin to know how excited I am about this particular giveaway.  One of the great side benefits to blogging is that I’m able to talk about and share information about products that make my life easier.

It’s a wonderful departure from my usual diatribe about boogers, vomit, and eyebrow pimples.  Not necessarily in that order.

Take a brief journey with me, if you will.  Quite a while back, I posted about my interest in the Vita-Mix and asked my readers for their feedback.  The response was very positive.

So, I filed “Vita-Mix” under “products I covet, and want to have on my kitchen counter.”

Many months passed, and my SIL Trish got a Vita-Mix.  So I got to see and hear about it first hand.  My longing increased.

Just after the New Year, and because of my quest to forge a healthier lifestyle, I took the plunge and bought one from the Vita-Mix website.

It also came with an instructional DVD and cookbook, and a 7 year warranty.

Let me tell you a little bit about the Vita-Mix. It’s like a blender, ON REALLY POWERFUL STEROIDS.  I personally go through a couple of blenders a year, because of my love of smoothies and blended coffee drinks.  And I’ve never been completely satisfied with the whole blender experience.  What with the chunks of ice, and all.  And I loathe cleaning the blender.

But with the Vita-Mix and its super powerful blades, I am making my coffee drink and smoothies in record time.  With no pesky chunks.  And the clean up is EASY.  And another bonus feature is that you can’t burn the motor out.  It has an auto-shut off, so the motor won’t overheat.  I LOVE that feature.

Not that I’ve ever set fire to my kitchen.

And get this.  It also makes amazing soup and ICE CREAM.  I’m not even kidding.  The healthiest and most delicious ice cream I’ve ever had.  With all natural ingredients.

I want to state for the record, that I have a 4 year old son that will not be in the same room with a green bean.  In order to prevent scurvy (which is not true, but what my mother told me I would get if I didn’t eat my vegetables), I have to sneak vegetation into this kid by deceptive means.

I’m not above parenting by deception, but DID YOU HEAR HIM SAY HE WANTED THE GREEN SMOOTHIE?  And he even sees me put the spinach in the Vita-Mix.  And that was not planned.  I can’t get that kid to do ANYTHING on cue.

I had one shot to get that take.  Because those were the last of my green smoothie ingredients.  I wish I could have shown you the out takes.  Like the one where my ice had melted and I forgot to put the top on and green smoothie splattered all over my white cabinet.

Really.  I ought to have my own cooking show.

The Vita-Mix pulverizes the entire fruit, skins, stem, and all and is actually healthier for you, than if you were to eat the fruit the old fashioned way.  Because the ingredients are broken down to the cellular (most bioavailable) level.  (And that factoid is what made my husband a believer in this product.)

And as I said, I make HOT soup in my Vita-Mix. (Nearly every day, in fact.) The force of the blades heats it up. I just throw my natural ingredients in and the Vita-Mix does the rest.  No cooking for me.  I’m serious, steam comes out the top!

Now, hold on to your hat.  I contacted the nice people at Vita-Mix and told them how much I love their product and wouldn’t it be really awesome if they would provide a Vita-Mix 5200 for one of my lucky commenters.
