I’m not a designer clothes snob. As evidenced by the stained t-shirts and worn out yoga pants that I’m so fond of. A ratty outfit that really ought never to be worn to the mailbox. Fortunately, the neighbors are use to me.
Sort of.
But for my kids? I love shopping for clothes with reputable labels. Clothes that I know are not going to fall apart when my children are, say, outside assaulting all of nature. In other words, I’m seeking well made clothes that will withstand most of what my children are going to throw at them.
But I don’t care for the price tag that goes along with those clothes with the reputable labels. Which is why I love discount designer stores.
The nice people at T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s contacted me and asked if I’d like to have a little shopping spree. On them. I said YOU BET I WOULD.
So, I decided to make the shopping trip a little challenge. As if shopping with 3 children isn’t challenging enough. I told my girls that they could each pick out a top, but they had to stay within a $25.00 budget. For BOTH of them.
They had no trouble whatsoever. Cailey picked out the ethereal top, and Emme chose the bright pink Puma shirt.

(Regular retail on both of these shirts would have been over $45.00)
Which baffles me, because she has spent the better part of this year trying to convince me that she doesn’t prefer pink. But since she’s 10, going on 17, I don’t even attempt to understand her.
I’m simply looking forward to those weekly calls from her when I’m old and gray, in which she apologizes for everything she has ever put me through.
If I live that long.
We made it under budget, and even had enough to splurge on a Mickey Mouse toy. As a reward for a younger brother who managed to behave and not get us evicted from the store.

I have no children but I love to shop for gifts for my nieces & nephews. I do most of my shopping at Kohl’s or JCPenney when things are on sale.
My girls are high school & college now and some of their faves are ModCloth.com, H&M, Target, and Norstrom’s Rack.
Count me in!
