I haven’t had anyone around here that I can legitimately call my baby for about 4 years. Although that doesn’t stop me. I tell Jensen, who is 4 (28 in Dog Years), that even when he’s taller than mommy he’ll still be my baby.
His reply is simply, “AND YOU’LL STILL BE MY MOMMY!” Because Jensen-speak is all caps.
When my babies were babies, I went through at least 5 different diaper bags. (I only have 3 children.) And hated them all. Especially the ones that the hospital generously donated after a restful stay in the maternity ward. Anyhoo.
I recently was made aware of some changes in diaper bag fashion. This one in particular is FANCY and speaks loudly to my finely tuned organizational skills.
In fact, I am so enamored with the Skip Hop Studio Diaper Tote that I would consider having another baby.
HAHAHA. Just kidding Fiddledaddy! Wanted to see if you were still reading my blog.
Well. I wanted to tell you about this tote, and for that, I will turn this over to the very nice people at All Modern Baby.

The Skip Hop Studio Diaper Tote:
When we start making purchases as a parent, it’s always important to keep safety, versatility, and family budget in mind. The trendiness of a certain item seems to take a backseat all to often either because the designer look significantly increases the cost or it just doesn’t provide the basic functions we look for in that particular product.
The great thing about this giveaway is that Skip Hop’s diaper tote combines comfort, convenience, and style all in one great bag. All Modern Baby, a dependable source for quality items such as Stokke Tripp Trapp high chairs and Bugaboo strollers, is offering the tote to one lucky Fiddledeedee Reviews reader in their choice of four stunning colors.
Complete with 14 interior pockets perfect for storing small items such as car keys and pacifiers and an eco-friendly, PVC-free diaper bag construction, this is certainly one item you don’t want to miss out on!
The great part about Skip Hop’s tote is that it doesn’t even resemble a diaper bag. Instead, you’ll be carrying around a stylish designer tote that satisfies all of your storage needs. Skip Hop was founded by Ellen and Michael Diamant of New York City, a young couple that wanted to develop a children’s accessory collection that’s great for an on-the-go, active family.

Expecting baby #3 this fall and would love love love one of these bags… most interesting item stashed in diaper bag? That would be a pregnancy test. Purchased at Walmart when my firstborn was barely 4 months old. Bought it, took it out of the plastic bag, stashed it in the trusty diaper bag along with the can of formula I had also purchased. Headed to the Walmart bathroom to make up a bottle for my son who was waiting hungry in the car with grandma, and decided “what the heck?” and peed on that test right there in the Walmart bathroom stall and 2.3 seconds later 2 bright pink lines appeared, and 8 1/2 months later baby #2 arrived. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
I can’t say I have had anything too interesting stashed in my diaper bags. There are always goldfish crumbs in the bottom, and random hair accessories, nail clippers, hand sanitizer, etc. But nothing of great interest.
I have 4 kids and we’ve gone through several diaper bags over the course of 6 years. I love a bag with lots of pockets!
I was searching through our bag one day when I found four wooden spoons. I didn’t stash them there, but it sure was nice to have them back. This bag is adorable!
Well, I had stashed a handy dandy accessory for Mommy’s who are just getting their monthly’s back to normal… oh the joys of trying to write that delicately. Anyways, my husband and I had just accepted a new pastorate and during the first service there, my four year old daughter found it. Because I was so in tune with worship, (and because I was nervous as a cat about being there) I didn’t even realize that she had started playing with it in typical four year old imaginative ways… Of course, just in case this in itself wouldn’t be embarrassing enough, one of our new parishioners tapped me on the shoulder and told me about what she was doing. When I took if from my daughter, she started asking me really loudly what it was and what I needed it for! (boy, was my face red). So, a diaper bag with lots of pockets and compartments where I might could hide a few unmentionables would be great! LOL
I have no idea how to answer that quesiton. I am sure there was something at one time, but my brain is fried from having two babies and currently making another one. Which is why I need a diaper bag badly. Hmm…let’s say a Ginzu knife. Just for fun
Probably nothing more interesting than a Dr. Pepper or a magazine for mommy.
But the pastor’s wife story cracked me up! Love it!
I don’t remember why it ended up in there, but I found a two year old biscuit stashed in my diaper bag when I pulled it out again to use for the next baby. The gross part was, the thing was still intact. I don’t know what fast food joint it came from, but they had preserved the heck out of it.
Hummm, the most interesting thing I’ve ever stashed in a diaper bag. We’re pretty boring around here. I think it would probably be the large envelope stuffed full of cream of something soup labels a church member gave us for our school’s fundraiser (campbells labels for education). Woo hoo!
Let’s see…iPod (normal), tiny Book of Mormon (slightly odd), kids’ immunization schedules (slightly odd), three sizes of diapers (normal), wipes, snacks, food (all normal)…ah HA! Three tiny tape measures! I was wondering where I’d put those.
I’d love to win this.
Oddest thing I’ve put in a diaperbag? My daughter’s only 5months, so I haven’t had much time for this one – but I have (on several occasions, I’m sad to say) stashed dirty diapers in the side pocket at the doctor’s office. They have some health code rule about not being able to throw them away there or something… it’s all good, unless it’s a friday visit and I forget about the diaper over the weekend (!)
I once found a used diaper (with #2 in it) wrapped in a plastic bag in the bottom of my diaper backpack. This wouldn’t have been unusual except that I had switched diaper brands 3 months earlier!
I can’t think of the most interesting item in the diaper bag….maybe hand sanitizer, snack bowls, sippie cups….we are pretty boring around here, but this diaper bag would be great to have.
Ours doubles as my purse, so it holds all manner of my own personal items…I also use its side mesh pocket as my soda can holder when we’re on the move. Needless to say I could use a new non-sticky diaper bag.
Hmmm…..let’s see.
Maybe Parker’s ostomy supplies?
Or his emergency trach care kit that includes the same exact plastic thing you used to see on ER when someone yelled out “BAG HIM!”
You know. In case the trach fails.
Or maybe the emergency g-tube replacement kit?
And all the feeding tubes and fun stuff that goes with it. Including instructions on how to replace the sucker in an emergency.
Yeah. Much more interesting stuff goes into Parker’s diaper bag than any of my other kids.
And we could sure use a new one.

I’m with Leah your #4 commenter. “Personal Items”. Except my son discovered mine in Walmart. At the check out. I’d forgotten all about that until now. I’m going to try to erase it from my mind again.
Expecting number 3 near July 30th, though he seems to want to make an appearance soon.
Let’s see… things from diaper bags of past… half eaten cheese sticks that the kids HAD to save for later, trinkets pilfered by hands I *thought* were restrained safely in a stroller, a sock (yes, just one), and a jumbo sized canister of fish food (in case the fish in Bass Pro Shop needed food, as per my oldest’s insistance).
We have a Skip Hop Duo and LOVE it. This is classier looking and much more grown up. Love it!
Poster #4 beat me to it about personal items! lol…
Another interesting thing is that I know I didn’t put them there: ANTS! Ugh…
I’ve gone through 4 kids, and countless useless diaper bags. It’s a hassle to carry a bag and a purse, so I’ve used the useless bag along with the baby stuff as my purse! Hated the way they looked and could NEVER find a nice diaper bag that DIDN’T look like one and yet functional!
So with further ado, PICK ME, PICK ME, PICK ME (with hands raised high)! Please? Pretty please? 9^D
I’d love to win this! The yuckiest thing I’ve found in my diaper bag (which is really a giant red backpack – not too stylin’ there, let me tell you..) is a sippy cup with whole milk in it… whole milk that turned into cottage cheese from sitting out too long in a hot car. GROSS! I decided to throw away the cup – I couldn’t even handle the smell or thought of sticking it in my dishwasher!
The most interesting thing I ever stashed in my daughter’ s diaper bag were papers that needed to be graded. I returned to teaching when my first daugther was five months old and then again when my second daughter was eighteen months old.
Howdy
Wow what an awesome solution to the age old ugly diaper bag that you honestly cannot live without when in need of one .
The most intresting item well that is a hard one to pin point as I kept my entire life in that bag.
I kept emergency panty hose, pads, everything a secretary might need or a soccer coach,an aspiring calligrapher ,dog biscuits,my favorite lipstick,a few toothpicks,a little dental floss and emergency sewing kit ,camera, and of course everything for baby.
Anyway just wanted to say thank you to the person who finally made a diaper bag that was stylish and functional.
If I win this, I know it will be one more way God’s saying…”It’s time, again”
The strangest thing…Probably my secret stash of Spree’s (or Sweet Tarts or Gobstoppers). Ohhh and I forgot the ever-present latex gloves….
Does it count of I am not the one that stashed it in there? Way back when my oldest was two she wanted to bring her cat(live animal) to the babysitter-on the way there we heard strange noises and figured it was her malfunctioning Tickle me Cookie Monster…….the cat survived, the child survived and we ae now expecting our fifth child so I guess technically we survived as well…
We have a backpack and the front pocket still contains a ziploc of br**st pads. I haven’t needed to wear those in a year but haven’t removed them yet either. Why? I don’t know. To clean up spills??!!
The strangest item I’ve found in my diaper bag was put in there by my daughter.
It happened after we had gone to a park with my parents, and my dad taught her how to catch frogs. The next day, I realized I had forgotten to take out the dirty diapers, and discovered a frog in there. He was a bit stunned and I’m sure he was not happy to have spent so much time near dirty diapers. We released him in the backyard and after a few minutes, he hopped away. I promptly had a talk with my daughter about not stowing poor innocent living creatures in mama’s bag.
That’s a lovely bag and I’d love to be the lucky winner!
I had the typical “mom & baby” stuff stashed away in my diaper bag….can’t really think of anything unusual except maybe extra clothes for me?
Would love to win this sassy bag!
Weirdest thing? I’m drawing such a blank! I think I used to put a spare shirt in there for myself when I was a brand new nursing mama. I’m not sure exactly what I thought I needed it for, but don’t most new moms overpack by at least 10x what they need?
Since I’m expecting our first in just over a month, I do not have any past experience with diaper bags. With the size of this bag, though, it would seem that you could fit just about anything your little heart desires in there! Since I’ve already been wanting a Skip Hop diaper bag it would be super to just win one instead!
I stashed cookies in my diaper bag too! In fact, I have found all sorts of items in the bottom of my old diaper bag! From mysterious cell phones to extra clothes- for me and my twins! Snacks, change, crumbs, used wipees and diapers are also a normal for me! Thanks for the chance- I would LOVE a wonderful diaper bag. Maybe if I had a nice bag like this, with room for everything, nothing would be mysteriously found later!
reposting due to cyberspace loss
but I’ve got a new strange item as of today: blue painter’s tape!!
We went to Florida for the first time with my 3 1/2 month old a few weeks ago. Flying with a baby takes about 5 arms- too bad I only have 2. Anyway, the diaper bag was used for everything I needed access to quickly, especially my plane tickets and driver’s license.
I can’t think of anything unusual that has been found in my diaper bag. I guess that makes me boring! I do keep nursing pads in the diaper bag for a quick change if I spring a leak! But, I would love to win a diaper bag.
Good thing i checked – I guess your server did lose my comment!
And I really need a new diaper bag!!!
I once found a REALLY old, smooshed black banana in the bottom of my diaper bag while I was cleaning it out…I thought it smelled kind of nasty.
I stuffed used nursing pads in there once in an awkward moment – it took me a few days to figure out why the bag smelled like sour milk – yuck!
I have 4 children, 6yo to 4 1/2months. My 23 month old finds it especially exciting to empty out my diaper bag (Grandma loves to watch her do this, it’s her idea of babysitting!) Well, I have to say that being distracted while she’s doing it in church can be a bit embarrassing, especially when she’s walking around after the service carrying a nursing pad. Not an unusual thing to carry in my diaper bag, just not something I usually display to anyone!
I, very regularly, keep undergarments stashed in my diaperbag. I just pray that the ladies in the nursery don’t go looking in that pocket…
I’m practicing for my first, so I don’t have any good stories yet! I’m sure when the time comes that the diaper bag will double as my purse. So I’m looking forward to having some good stories to tell!
Thank you for this giveaway! I’d love to win it for our upcoming baby. It looks terrific! We have found old juice, smashed crackers, a leaking tube of A & D ointment which left us a big mess in our previous diaper bags.
I have stashed sooo many things in our diaper bags, they double as my purse and our travel bags as well. I’ve found broken cookies, fourtune cookies, dirty spoons, and of course all the other normal things!
Aww, my comment was lost, I guess! A new diaper bag would be heavenly!
5 pens, or even more at one time. I don’t know why i just keep stashing pens into my diaper bag … i hope to win your giveaway.
Hey there. The bag looks wayyy nice! I have a 21 month old but I am expecting another, and the diapers bags I’ve had in the past were not nice and not cute so I would love love love this one. The funniest thing I ever put in my diaper bag was probably not just any diaper, but a stinky poo poo diaper. Sometimes I wasn’t sure if I’d offend someone by throwing the poo poo diaper in their trashcan. Don’t worry, if you give me the bag, I won’t stink it up!
I posted but I don’t see it so here goes again. :0) We have a brand new 2 week old daughter and a 2 year old still in diapers so this would be so handy. I guess the strangest items found would be one used nursing pad ( I have two breasts so not sure where the other one went to, lol) and in the early days after delivery, spare undies and sanitary necessities that of course decided to fall out of the bag while frantically grabbing for a clean diaper. Thanks for the giveaway! God Bless.
I stashed homemade chocolate chip cookies, from a restaurant, into their diaper bags. I couldn’t resist them!
For me it would be a star wars figurine and it was not for my daughter
Nothing out of the ordinary by my standards… snacks, toys, sippy cups, camera, emergency change of clothes for the little one.
although the camera has interesting pictures from when the little one got a hold of it… pictures of her forehead, the ceiling, her stomach.
I have been drooling over this bag for a while now! The most interesting thing I’ve stashed in my diaper bag is maybe toilet seat liners. I have a phobia of dirty public bathrooms.
Please pick me!!!!
I think the most interesting thing I’ve stashed in there is my Bible. Because carrying a squirmy baby on a long walk from the parking lot into the church is a little easier if I only have to carry ONE bag, rather than two or three.
Ooohhhh…. totally love! Anything that gives me the chance to stash things in various pockets is great
As for interesting items…. hmmm…. all baby items, plus necessary purse items, sippy cups for the older two, snacks for all… nothing to out of the ordinary.
Julie D.
Our son is on a ventilator – the most interesting thing we’ve stashed in his diaper bag is a spare oxygen tank.
