Mead Calendars: A Giveaway
November 20th, 2008 by FiddledeedeeAnyone who knows me, knows that I’m a sucker for calendars. I have one on the fridge, which is also known as “Command Central.” I also keep a calendar in my purse. I also have a homeschool calendar, a blog calendar, and possibly a couple more by my computer.
And btw, I do not get confused. Every one of them serve a purpose. Don’t try to understand me, just nod your head “yes” if you can relate.
Recently, Fiddledaddy tried to sell me on the merits of getting an iPhone. “You can get rid of all your calendars,” he reasoned.
I stared at him blankly. “Are you new?”
Get rid of my calendars. It will be a cold day in…Florida.
No, I like to see my calendar, feel it, and write in it. In the color of my choosing. I have little symbols in my calendar that only I know the meaning of. For example, I can tell at a glance when I need to stock up on the Motrin and chocolate. Just sayin’. The children see it and ask, “Mom, why is there a red skull and crossbones on this page?”
I also have a calendar on my computer that Fiddledaddy tries to get me to use. But, I got into an awful lot of trouble when I wrote on my computer screen.
Imagine my excitement when the Mead Company wanted to send me some calendars to peruse. My joy knew no bounds.
First of all, I love the Mead Company in its entirety. I use their products nearly every day of my life. Especially during the homeschool year. Which is, well golly, year round.
They sent me a Moms Organizer that has a Chore Chart and stickers, with a Storage Pocket and Planning Calendar.
AND, they have calendars geared especially for the kids. We have a Disney Princess calendar that have static cling paper dolls and clothes, plus activities.
The boy in the family isn’t left out, since he is set up with SpongeBob Squarepants and Thomas & Friends. These also have static cling characters, that can be set up in a different scene every month.
I’m totally impressed with how interactive the kid’s calendars are. And there are many more to chose from. What a great Christmas gift these would be.
And that is an excellent segue, to let you know that the Mead Company is offering a Calendar giveaway to one of my readers. They will send you a variety of their calendars. All you have to do, is go here, and then come back and let me know which one (or more) of the many calendars would most appeal to your youngster. Or you.
Leave your answer in a comment, and I will close comments on Sunday, November 23, at 8:00 EST. And then let Mr. Random Number Generator do his thing.
Happy scheduling!

TWEETY, hands down! My three just love that little bird!
(I’m a Pooh lover, myself…)
November 20th, 2008 at 6:01 am
All right, well the kids might like the Disney Pixar favorites or the Tinkerbell or one of those funnier ones. Personally, I want to puke when I see all the everyday products in copyrighted characters!!! For myself, I just want some of their organizing products and a new purse sized calendar for next year!!
November 20th, 2008 at 6:03 am
I think my little guy would love the Disney Pixar favorites and Tinkerbell for my neices!
I totally understand planner/calendar obsession just throw in the different color highlighters – one color per family member and my little heart just sighs with contentment. until the highlighters disappear…
November 20th, 2008 at 6:20 am
Betty Boop for me and Disney Pixar for the boy.
Although I’m kinda liking Co-Edikit & Revilo Funny Business.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:36 am
We like Gary Patterson’s Cats calendar.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:23 am
My sons love calendars! I know they would love the Disney Favourites, the Marvel and Spiderman calendars. What a fun giveaway!
November 20th, 2008 at 7:24 am
Would have to go with the Mickey Mouse, since I didn’t see Curious George.
November 20th, 2008 at 7:30 am
Thomas. Totally Thomas the Tank Engine, all 4 of my boys have been enthralled with Thomas, and my littlest is just revving it up for the Christmas season!!
November 20th, 2008 at 8:09 am
I would love an organizer calender! My boys would love anything superhero!
November 20th, 2008 at 8:18 am
Disney Fairies wall calendar or the Tinker bell one. OH WOW!!! I am in trouble I think I will be shopping on their site for a lot of my Christmas gifts this year. I love my calendars!! I have four calendars and they each serve their own purpose!!! Thanks for the giveaway I hope I win!!!!!
November 20th, 2008 at 8:27 am
My boys would love the Disney Pixars Favorites or Marvel Heroes calendars. For me though? I am liking this one. http://www.mead.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product3_10051_10006_129238_-1_false_10051##
Gotta love a great weekly/month at a glance combination. Hmm… I might need to pick this one up for myself.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:29 am
I’d choose the Pixar for the boys. I like the 4 person daily calenar for myself.
November 20th, 2008 at 8:42 am
Most definitely Disney Princesses. I have 3 princesses of my own and each has a different favorite. Which of course do change regularly so you have to cover all your bases!
And I’m new to the calendar loving. I always buy 3 or 4 in January and end up using them for a whole week that way. But buy them in the middle of the year and I’m a calendar junkie!
November 20th, 2008 at 8:56 am
Well, depending on which of my boys I was buying for, I’d choose either Mickey Mouse or Thomas the Train. I am surprised that MEAD would leave out that goldmine Lightning McQueen except to have him share his glory with all his Disney Pixar buddies.
Thanks for the give-away!!!
November 20th, 2008 at 9:36 am
Disney Princesses, Tweety, and Tinkerbell for the girls. Any one of the home management ones for me =)
November 20th, 2008 at 9:45 am
My son would absolutely love the Transformers animated calender! As for myself, I think the Revilo Funny Business calender would be fun!
November 20th, 2008 at 9:51 am
Tinker Bell for my daughter and Winnie the Pooh for me please! I too have tried to be “pushed” into an electronic organizer and resist! I love seeing the month at a glance and writing my events in, it’s therapudic! Thanks.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:58 am
Gary Patterson’s Cats or the Revilo office calender. My kids are in their twenties now, but my daughter would like either
November 20th, 2008 at 10:38 am
You can’t go wrong with Dora the Explorer! Both my daughter AND my son love her!
November 20th, 2008 at 10:50 am
For the Princess in my house…it would have to be the Walt Disney Sweet Kisses. My choice, hands down, would be C-Edikit (love the cover “Lost in Thought–please send a search party”!)
Love your blog!
November 20th, 2008 at 10:51 am
I would use the Winnie the Pooh calendar… I’m expecting in January, and need a calendar to record all the baby firsts until i have time to put them in the baby book (which might be, you know, when the baby goes to kindergarten)
November 20th, 2008 at 10:57 am
Oh my! What a selection! My kids would love the Mickey Mouse clubhouse calendar, the Disney Princesses Calendar, Batman, Spider Man, Marvel Super Heroes….and the list goes on!! Winnie the Pooh for this Mommy. Need I say more??
I must confess I was drawn to the “dark side” and converted to the computer calendar and my husband got me a “personal organizer” so I could sync the two together and never be without a calendar. I too was someone who needed the paper and pen to stay organized. However, I went through a period last year when I never had my notes, the paper I had written the date, time and directions on or the notebook with the details in it. I knew then that I needed something different. And shhhhh…. the secret is, I love it! I wish I had made the change sooner!
November 20th, 2008 at 11:26 am
My daughter would love Tinker Bell or the Princess calander. You would make her day!! Christmas is going to be fun this year. She is 3 and very dramatic about everything…the Lights! the Christmas Trees! Santa! It is wonderful to see it thru her eyes.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:31 am
Batman, Spiderman, or Pixar! They are all hits with my little guy and he LOVES numbers so this would be so much fun for him to continue learning days of the week, months, etc.! How fun!!
November 20th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Tinkerbell…definitely!
November 20th, 2008 at 11:55 am
Probably good ‘ole Winnie the Pooh. My daughter is just 2 and Winnie and friends are just her speed!
November 20th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
Co-edikit! How did you get that picture of me for the cover? That creature looks like I feel. Confused.
Mr. Random Number Generator, I love you.
November 20th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
My kids would really like the Wonderpets Calendar. I too love calendars. Kind of makes me feel important.
Angie
November 20th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
My daughter would love the Tinkerbell calendar or the Disney Princesses calendar.
And I totally understand your use of an actual calendar rather than an electronic device. My husband tried to get me to swtich too- and it’s just not happening!
November 20th, 2008 at 12:56 pm
Go, Diego, Go!! That’s my sons favorite
November 20th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
I think it’d be fun for each of my girls to have one, and I need a command central. Ella (5) would love and cherish a Batman calendar. For real. Natalie (3) would like either Disney princess or Dora. And for command central, I’m feeling the Disney Favorites. I’m also drooling over the AT-A-GLANCE Planner with Monthly Tabs and Padded Cover, Weekly/Monthly Large Desk. That would be handy. I like calendars.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
I love calendars also! For my family it would be any Betty Boop, Tinkerbell, Winnie the Pooh (that would be the girls!) and then Disney Pixar or Spongebob for the boy! Great Giveaway!
Kristi
November 20th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
Disney princess wall calendar or Dora for the girls and Go Diego Go for the boy.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Oh, I love calendars and planners. I was nodding my head yes.
It would have to be Princesses for the girl, Mickey Mouse for the boy and for me, the sweet kisses. Of course I really need the plan it type with pockets and such.
Great giveaway, Thanks!!
November 20th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
I would like the disney pixar favorites one. It would appeal to the widest variety of my kiddos!
Personally, I think I’d like a new super strong magnetic calendar for the fridge. We just moved and the calendar I’ve used for years just won’t fit in here.
Pick me oh, mighty random number generator!!!
November 20th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
I like the Psalms wall calendar…
November 20th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
For me it will have to be Debbie Mumm!
November 20th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
We would love the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse calendar since we’re headed to Disneyland on Christmas Day!
November 20th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
The Disney villains of course!
November 20th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
Cute!! I think we’d like the Phineas and Ferb.
November 20th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
Disney Princess for the girl, Pixar for the boy and I love the Wonder Pets!
November 20th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
My daughter just LOVES phineas and Ferb. She even has us record it for her!
When she is watching them I can hear her all through out the house laughing
November 20th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Well. I have four kids. But it’s the two oldest who would have clear preferences, so I’ll just go with them!
My oldest is a 5-year-old boy, and would absolutely flip over the Batman one. He’d rather have Kung-Fu Panda, but seeing as how that’s not an option, he’ll settle for Batman because “he knows ninja moves.” His words, not mine.
My next is a 4-year-old girl who loves all things princess. So. Easy peasy here. ANY of the ones with a princess anywhere in the near vicinity would make her heart go pitter-pat-patter-pit. And she’d squeal like a girl!
As for me…I’m obsessed with all things fairy, and I love the artwork in the Disney fairy line (though I haven’t seen the movie yet). So I’d go with the Disney fairy calendar.
Thanks for sharing!

I am a wanna be calander keeper, that is I have several calanders and am hit or miss about using them. Maybe that will make a good new years resolution.
As for which calanders our house would evjoy, it may be easier to tell you the ones we wouldn’t lol. Bubba would LOVE either the Thomas or the Pixar Favs. Monkey would LOVE the PRincess, Dora, or Pooh. They are fairly easy to please though and would love anything that THEY got in the mail. LOL
November 21st, 2008 at 8:04 pm
Wonder Pets, Wonder Pets, we’re on our way! … Thanks, DeeDee. Now that song is stuck in my head. It would definitely be the girls’ favorite, though!
November 21st, 2008 at 9:09 pm
*sigh* Batman would go over very well.
I’m more of a Winnie the Pooh type gal. Stuffed with too much fluff.
Is it just me or is TinkerBell getting sassier?
November 22nd, 2008 at 10:54 pm
Pixar, I’m sure Zman would say Batman or Spidey if given the choice, but yet again no choice given!
November 23rd, 2008 at 12:30 am
It would have to be Fairies or Betty Boop here. My 9-year-old is fairy crazy, and the 6-year-old has had a thing for Betty since she was tiny! My husband would really like the Pixar one, but he’d be overruled by the girls!
November 23rd, 2008 at 4:00 am
Pixar for sure! We love all of those movies!
November 23rd, 2008 at 9:15 am
My kiddos would love the Spongebob calendar.
